[ CONTRIBUTIONS to URBAN DEVELOPMENT ]
2024 PLANO CITY CULTURE FESTIVAL

At 7:30 in the morning on May 4, 2024, GKT arrived at the 2024 Plano Asian American Cultural Festival as invited.
We set up booths for the organizing committee, placed tables and chairs, hung banners, set up tents, managed vehicle access, and helped exhibitors and other groups with admission procedures and consultation services.
In order to make our home better, we continue to shoulder the responsibility of "promoting multicultural development and promoting urban economic prosperity" and work towards it.
At 10am, we started to raise funds for the elderly rehabilitation center and several charity projects. The volunteers arranged their work according to the content of our previous meeting. Some set up stalls and merchandise, some arranged games, some made balloons, distributed promotional materials, etc.
When the event officially started at 11am, more GKT members came to the event site to contribute to the prosperity of the city. Young volunteers including 6Y Theodore, 7Y Daniel, 8Y Andrea and 9Y Halbert sold popcorn and balloons among the tourists. Their efforts paid off and they successfully raised funds for GKT charity projects.
This community event not only raised funds for the elderly rehabilitation center and related charity projects, but also attracted the attention of other ethnic groups and more teenagers to join.
GKT is worthy of being an ambassador for promoting multiculturalism. This event provided us with a real learning environment and cultivated leadership, insight, communication, interpersonal skills, speaking skills, sales skills, market strategies, etc. This was a successful volunteer activity.
GKT hopes to provide more practical experiences for children to advance together and grow in confidence and capability.
